I installed these in my basement workshop, where I have no room for speakers, but wanted to hear music without adding stuff to the room. The mounting system for these is poorly explained in the manual, but actually quite easy to achieve once you figure out how it works. Once I had them installed, I was quite impressive with the audio quality, while keeping in mind that these are only $100 for the pair--you're not going to get high end sound at this price point. I plan to buy another pair and look at some higher end Polk built-ins for other applications.
Fantastic sound. Purchased these as surround/side speakers. These speakers look clean, sound crisp, so much so they out-performed my front speakers and I now use them for my music too--as surround sound speakers they don't get much better-- they convinced me to change out my old front speakers with some new polk 300 floor standing speakers---very happy with purchase. The toughest part was running my speaker wire through walls, ceiling, etc. Once that was done, installing the speakers themselves was easy and rewarding. Great product and price. Highly recommended.
I stressed over what to buy for months, kept coming back to Polk's, they are terriffic and I am glad I got the 8" over the 6" as the sound is very full and bold.
I purchased a pair of the speakers for our covered patio, installation was simple and most importantly the sound is overall great through them. They are lacking slightly in bass but overall a great buy.
I looked at a few different manufactures prior to making my purchase and for the price and quaility, these speakers are hard to beat. I have 4 of them mounted in the game room area of my basement and they fill the room even at low program levels. I have nothing but good things to say. Excellent Choice.
